Hi! I’m Carly – the creator of Busy Moms Do Piano and the face you see in all those lesson videos.
I’ve been teaching piano for 18 years in all kinds of different settings — including classrooms, my home studio and facilities that serve kids with special needs.
Whenever I enroll a new student at my home studio, I always meet with their family first. So often, as I visit with the parents, I hear the same refrain…
“I wish I had learned to play the piano.”
or….another variation of the lament…
“I wish I had never quit piano lessons.”
It’s not unusual for a parent to enroll in lessons with me while their child is at school, in order to have the joy of learning piano alongside their child and also to be a help and partner for their child between lessons.
Often, however, a parent is busy with work, young children at home and other obligations.
Or there’s the added expense of investing $80-$100 per month to fulfill that wish of learning the piano…
And these compelling reasons put that dream on the back burner.
I began to wonder if there was a way to reach the parents of my piano students with a flexible and affordable program they could access online during their free time, without having to worry about commuting or keeping a regularly scheduled lesson appointment each week.
And so Busy Moms Do Piano was born.
A few months later, I also developed a companion program for children — Busy Kids Do Piano. Through these two online programs, I now have the ability to bring music lessons into the lives of children and adults all over the world.
